Carrie G. Stevens
(1882-1970)
This charismatic housewife from rural
western Maine popularized the American
mixed-wing streamer. This style of fly
dressing has lasted for over eighty years,
and continues to be one of the most
popular forms of tying. While she created
numerous patterns, only about two dozen
of these are widely known. FORGOTTEN
FLIES presents 170 Rangeley Favorite patterns
created or popularized by Carrie, together
with their dressings.
