This was the first book produced by The Complete Sportsman. It was printed as a Limited edition of 300 copies, plus 28 Deluxe edition copies that contained one of the salmon flies from the book. All Deluxe editions were sold prior to publication.
Preface written by Paul Schmookler, introduction by David Zincavage, and photography by Ingrid Sils. All flies were tied by Paul Schmookler. Each photograph of Major Traherne's flies is accompanied by the original article, reproduced from The Fishing Gazette, Land and Water, or The Salmon Fly that describes the fly.
